This Peace of Place ~ for the women of Israel and Palestine ©

“we need us more than these plots of dirt”

By Kamaria Muntu

Need is somber
beyond the pale of difference
there is a swarm of gentle night
a mantra grafted in civility
Need comes upon the women
chanting away the droppings of vultures
death cries of wild poachers
and sterile agendas
that will not conceive of such loss
such cryptic loss
So make of what we say here
in the dark and light of this painful connection
from the death camps to the killing fields
we need us more than these plots of dirt
affirming tactile opportunity
cemeteries for our most cherished
